    Stopped at my first gun show ever and ran into you in Memphis on 7/22. Spent $10 on the best purchase I have made in a long time. I have been trying to gather information for years on the ins/outs of hand gun carry in Tennessee. I searched the net with little real help. Purchased "Traveler's Guide to the Firearm Laws of the Fifty States" by J. Scott Kappas, Esq. Although helpful, there were still many unanswered questions.

     Your publication is just what I was looking for. This publication should be required reading for everyone who attends training prior to obtaining a "carry permit". If their smart, they will purchase a copy and review it as often as they go to the range.  The obligations that go along with a "carry permit" are complicated and scary. I want all the help I can get from anyone if, in the process, I will become better qualified to carry this very special permit.

    As a thirty year military veteran and ex TDOC officer, I am disappointed that there is not some sort of "in service training" for people like me. If civilians want to carry concealed weapons, why not an annual four hour training course that would include an hour of review of the Tennessee laws followed by time on the range? If annual is too much, how about prior to renewal? I realize there would be many objections but I believe this is a safety issue. If we, as citizens, are to be allowed to carry concealed weapons in public, we should be willing to go the extra mile for safety sake.
