When a person makes application for a Tennessee Handgun Carry Permit, they can be charged with perjury if they lie on the application regarding any criminal charges.  We hear a lot in the liberal media about criminals who receive a Tennessee Handgun Carry Permit.  Here is one felon who got caught.  Russell Dwayne Williams, 51, Lehigh Drive, Newport, Tennessee was charged with perjury.

Lt. Robert Eckerman of the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security, presented information to the panel saying Williams while completing a handgun carry permit, said he had never been convicted of a felony offense. Lt. Eckerman presented evidence that the defendant was convicted in 1987 of felony receiving and concealing stolen property.  END
