Alcohol Provisions For States That Honor The Tennessee Handgun Permit


States allowing restaurant carry or do not have any restictions in their codes are GREEN

States that do not allow carry in establishments selling alcohol for on premises consumption are in RED.

Alabama

Allowed - no restrictions in Alabama State codes.
NOTE:  Alabama Sheriffs can place restrictions on the Albama Pistol Pemits they issue. 
If you look at the website of the Sheriff in Shelby County says: 
WARNING
Your pistol permit does not authorize you to carry a pistol while consuming alcohol or drugs.

Alaska

Any place where intoxicating liquor is sold for consumption on the premises, except a restaurant
where the person carrying the firearm did not consume intoxicationg liquor.

Arkansas

Any portion of an establishment, except a resaurant as defined in § 3-9-402,
where beer or light wine is consumed on premises. 


Arizona

Any establishment that serves alcohol for on premises consumption.

Delaware

No restrictions in their codes.

Florida

Any portion of an establishment licensed to dispense beer or alcoholic beverages for
consumption on the premises, which portion of the establishment is primarily devoted to that purpose.

Georgia

Establishments at which alcoholic beverages are sold for consumption on the premises.

Idaho

No restrictions in their codes.

Indiana

No restrictions in their codes.

Kansas

No rstrictions in their codes.

Kentucky

Businesses that dispense beer or alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises
with the exception of restaurants receiving 50% of their revenues from the sale of food.


Louisiana

Any portion of the permitted areas of an establishement that has been granted a Class A general retail permit, as defined in Part II of Chapter I or Chapter I Part II Title 26 to sell alcoholic beverages for consumption on the bremises.

Michigan

Dining room, louge, or bar area of a premises licensed under Liquor Control Code .


Minnesota

No restriction in their codes.

Mississippi

No restrictions in their codes.

Missouri

Bars - No 

Restaurants - OK


Montana

No restrictions in their codes.

Nevada

No restrictions in their codes.

New Hampshire

No restrictions in their codes.

New Mexico

Any establishment selling liquor.

North Carolina

Where alcohol is both sold and consumed on the premises.

North Dakota

Places that serve alcohol.

Ohio

Where liquor is being dispensed in premises that has been issued a Class D License.

Oklahoma

No restrictions in their codes.

Pennsylvania

No restrictions in their codes.

South Carolina

Carrying a firearm into a business selling alcohol.

Texas

Carry is allowed if the establishment receives less than 50% of the income from the sale of food.

Utah

No restrictions in their codes.

Vermont

No restrictions in their codes.

Virginia

Any restaurant or club as defined in Code 4.1.100, for which a license has been granted by
The Virginia Alcoholic Beverage under Title 4.1 of the Code of Virginia.

NOTE:  Open carry is allowed in most restaurants.  Also, the Virginia law does not prevent the legally armed person from drinking while carrying a sidearm in the open.


West Virginia

No restictions in their codes.

Wyoming

Any portion of an establishment licensed to dispense alcoholic liquor and malt beverages for
consumption on the premises, which portion of the establishment is primarily devoted to that purpose.
